Scancot TriboGlide 15 is a fiber-reinforced composite material developed for plain bearings and sliding components with very low friction in dry operation.<\/strong> The material combines a mechanically strong, fiber-reinforced core with a self-lubricating surface and is particularly applicable where conventional lubrication is undesirable or difficult.<\/p>\n

Self-lubricating, low-friction plain bearings<\/h2>\n

TriboGlide 15 has the lowest dry friction values of the Scancot composites. Static friction coefficient is stated at 0.12, while dynamic friction coefficient can be as low as 0.04 with proper mating surfaces.<\/p>\n

The low friction makes the material well suited for plain bearings, sliding surfaces and other components where controlled movement is required with limited or no external lubrication.<\/p>\n

Fiber-reinforced core and self-lubricating surface<\/h2>\n

TriboGlide 15 is often used together with Scancot TriboTex 7, where the fiber-reinforced part provides the necessary mechanical properties and the TriboGlide surface reduces friction.<\/p>\n

The material has been used in offshore applications such as launch systems, tow bolts, winches, cranes, anchor handling and mooring systems.<\/p>\n

Machined plain bearings and sliding components<\/h2>\n

Scanco can deliver fully machined plain bearings<\/a>, bushings and special components in Scancot TriboGlide 15 according to drawing or 3D model.<\/p>\n

The machining is carried out in our own workshop, so that we can deliver complete components adapted to the geometry, opposing surface and current application.<\/p>\n
