Scancot TriboSlide is a composite material developed for support pads, sliding pads and other highly loaded sliding components in maritime applications. The material combines high load-bearing capacity with low friction, good impact resistance and very low swelling.
Glide pads and support pads for marine applications
TriboSlide is developed for demanding maritime systems, including container vessels and other ship-related equipment. The material is particularly relevant in applications where sliding components are exposed to high loads, seawater and demanding operating conditions.
The material counteracts problems associated with marine fouling, cathodic scaling and bimetallic corrosion, and can be an alternative to traditional bronze or bronze-graphite pads.
Low friction and high load capacity
Scancot TriboSlide has high load-bearing capacity, good impact resistance, low friction and good dimensional stability. The material also has very low swelling and helps to isolate different metallic materials from each other, which can reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.
TriboSlide can be used in dry operation or with grease, seawater or oil lubrication. The material can work against, among other things, ordinary steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, chrome-plated steel and nitrided surfaces.

The machining is carried out in our own workshop., so that we can deliver ready-made support pads, sliding pads and special components adapted to the relevant marine application.
