PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) is a unique and versatile engineering thermoplastic with a semi-crystalline structure and very high chemical resistance. The material can withstand heat up to 250–260 °C, and in some cases can handle temperatures up to a melting point of approximately 341 °C. This stability makes Polyetheretherketone particularly well suited for demanding applications where traditional plastics fall short.
Versatile and robust
PEEK maintains its physical properties such as flexural strength and tensile strength, even at high temperatures or in environments with hot water and steam. This makes it a preferred material in industries that require long service life in challenging conditions. At the same time, it is lightweight, which allows components to be designed lighter and more robust than using traditional metals.
Customizable features
A major advantage of PEEK is that its properties can be tailored to meet specific requirements. Choose from fiber-reinforced PEEK, PEEK with PTFE, conductive PEEK and more. This provides a wide range of options for applications such as the oil and gas industry, medical applications, semiconductor industry, aerospace, agriculture and food production. The high performance means that users often consider PEEK to be more than just an “expensive plastic” – you get a lot for your money.
