PTFE/Teflon

• Very low friction
• Very good chemical resistance
• High temperature resistance
• Very low water absorption
• Good electrical insulation properties

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a high-performance engineering plastic with very low friction, very good chemical resistance and high temperature resistance. The material is used in demanding industrial, offshore and maritime applications where low friction, chemical resistance or temperature resistance is important.

Properties and uses

PTFE has a very low coefficient of friction and good sliding properties. The material has very good resistance to a wide range of chemicals and very low water absorption.

The material is used for, among other things, seals, gaskets, linings, bearings, sliding parts, insulating components and other machine parts that are exposed to chemicals, temperature or friction.

Machined parts in PTFE

Scanco can supply CNC machined PTFE parts according to drawing or 3D model. The material can be machined into seals, gaskets, bushings, sliding parts and special components, among other things.

We produce both individual components and series in our own workshop.

Semi-finished product

We supply PTFE as semi-finished products in various dimensions and designs. PTFE is the type of material that is also known through the trademark Teflon. Please contact us if you need material for your own production or finished machined components.
